Needless to say, when I learned the two would be co-writing a book I was extremely excited. Sara and Rachel did not dissapoint. I have to say that reverse harem is not a trope I have read a lot of. Ironically, "Four" is the 4th reverse harem book I have read. I couldn't put it down. If it wasn't for my 10 hour office days I would've devoured it sooner. "Four" is a dark reverse harem romance packed with a lot of drama, imperfect characters, and steamy scenes. In an instant, Iris Pavetta's life completely changed and the only life she had known became non-existant. The only thing she had was the last words her father whispered, "find Silas Black," but when Iris showed up at the Black home demanding answers, she found so much more that she could have ever imagined - Silas Black - a man who exude confidence, power, and strength. She wasn't a "doormat" who simply followed orders. The girl was a fighter and she sure proved that over and over throughout this book.I loved all three of the guys for different reasons, but Silas is my favorite. He was my #1 from the beginning and the other two simply couldn't knock him off the spot. Gabriel, I just wanted to to hug him and hold on to him. Now Baron, listen.....I mean, he is Silas' son!If reverse harem is not your jam, or if you haven't read many of them READ THIS ONE. I guarantee you are not going to want to put it down. The book does include plently of dark elements that are not for the faint of heart, but that's what made this story so captivating. You really didn't know what was going to happen next. If you have read any of Sara and Rachel's books then you know - you know that these amazing ladies can deliver unconventional taboo stories that are emotional, steamy and plot driven. I can't wait to see what they come up with next. All I can say is wow. This book is pure fire. The violence, the action, and the steam. I couldn’t put it down. I loved everything about this book and was hoping it wouldn’t end.The story starts with Iris, the daughter of a powerful mafia boss using one of her body guards for some personal pleasure. All of a sudden there is an attack and Iris is rushed out of the house by her dad with a name and place to go right before he is killed. Iris shows up at Silas Black’s house looking to claim the favor he owed her dad. While there Iris learns what the Black’s really do and asks for their help getting her revenge against the man who killed her father.The tension between Iris and the guys is extreme from the start. Even when they didn’t like each other the chemistry was there. You have Gabriel, who craves blood and violence. Baron who is cruel and densenitized. And then there is Silas, their dad and leader of the business. His relationship with his sons is strained due to letting their jobs interfere with any emotional bonds. When Iris shows up she brings life into the house and shows the guys what it is like to feel.Iris is such a unique character. It’s hard to find fmc that embraces their sexuality and isn’t scared to own it. She is able to use her hurt and anger over her loss of her dad to get vengeance even if it means learning things she may not be comfortable with. I enjoyed seeing her put all the guys in their place. Even when they were mean she didn’t let it get to her. She was able to show them that their jobs didn’t mean they didn’t have a heart.The only thing I wished this book had was some of the guys POV. But I’m just a sucker for getting into the male’s heads so it was more of a personal preference and didn’t take away from the story. This book was addicting and showed even the most crazed people can grow, and find love and acceptance for who they are.
